SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYGod be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause His face to shine upon us: Selah. (Psalm 67:1)
The psalmist asks God for three things: (1) His mercy, (2) His blessing, and (3) the light of His countenance. We could ask, “Why do we want God to bless us?” The answer might be “because I need a blessing;” however, another reason is given here. The psalmist here asks the Lord to bless him that “thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.” What a noble cause! We do need God’s blessings upon our own lives; however, He blesses us that others may be blessed.We dare not hoard God’s blessings, but rather, share them with all. The result is that, not just some, but all the people will praise Him! ~
