SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYNow the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. (Jonah 1:17)
The story that we all learned as kids of Jonah and the whale teaches us that we can’t run from God. The Lord had a very important job for Jonah. He wanted to save a city! When he got the call from the Lord to go and preach to Nineveh, Jonah decided to go in the opposite direction. How typical of us today. When God calls you to do a work say, “Yes sir!” and head off to battle. If you don’t, you will have some rocky roads to travel and probably end up doing what He wants you to anyway. There is no higher calling than to be a servant of the Lord God of Heaven! ~
