An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

July 5

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYFor I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: (Job 19:25)And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: (Job 19:26)Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me. (Job 19:27)

What a statement of faith! In the midst of trials Job cries out, “I know that my redeemer liveth.” While going through one of the darkest hours that a man could experience, he knew that no matter what happened to him in this life, he would someday see God. Life is short even for those who live the longest. It is filled with trouble and disappointment. It is the blessed hope of every child of God that someday he will see the Lord. The anticipation of this inevitable meeting will lift your spirit and bless your soul when you go through the valley. Even in the darkest hours, there is light at the end of the tunnel! ~
