SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYBehold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: (Job 5:17)
I am so happy I’m getting a whipping! You say, “Are you crazy?” No, I’m not! Consider these three reasons why a man whom the Lord corrects is happy. (1) God loves him. If He did not care for us there would be no chastening when we wander out of the way. Although no chastening seems good at the present time, just thank God that He cares enough for you to correct you. (2) He is God’s child. In the book of Hebrews we are told that if we did not receive the Lord’s chastening then we were not His child. We do not correct other’s children, only our own. (3) Correction will keep him in the right path. Without it, we would wander hopelessly. So, the next time that you are in the midst of a spiritual spanking, despise it not. Rejoice - you are blessed! ~~~
