An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

June 17

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered. (2 Chronicles 31:21)

The success of Hezekiah can be attributed to several things. One of which was that he did what he did with all his heart. Many failures of today’s Christian’s can be attributed to half-heartiness. Half-heartiness is a curse of our times. Time constraints force us to make choices. Many times God’s worship and work are squeezed into a shorter time period while we make more room for other things in our life. We wonder why we are not prospering spiritually as we would like and blame it on other things or even other people, but the answer may lie in our priorities. Do we put Jesus first? Is He really Lord? Is our work more important that God’s work? Of course not. Hezekiah served God with all his heart. God came first in his life. When we truly seek Him with all our hearts, we will prosper! ~~~ Daily Bible Reading for June 17: 2 Chronicles 31-33
