An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

May 8

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYYea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel. (Psalm 128:6)
The promise of long life and peace is given to the person who fears the Lord and walks in His ways. It is true that many righteous die young and many wicked live to be very old; however, generally speaking, those who love the Lord and live faithfully for Him have a better quality and quantity of life. We only have to read the newspapers or listen to the news to know that many lost people die unnecessarily and prematurely. Their lifestyle promotes an early grave. Hatred leads to murder, drinking leads to automobile accidents, fights and broken homes, unrestrained lusts lead to sexual diseases, ruined marriages and suffering children, and all sin leads to a curse upon one’s life. On the other hand, those who live for the Lord will enjoy God’s blessings as they journey through this life. Don’t you want to live for God? ~~~
