SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYMy heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. (Psalm 57:7)
David fled from the wrath of Saul and was hiding in a cave when he wrote Psalm 57. He had expressed how he was trusting in the Lord to keep him from the calamities that had beset him. Outside, the storm was certainly howling, yet inside David affirmed the resolve of his heart. In his heart he had peace. In his heart he had a song. Do you let exterior circumstances control your demeanor? If someone gives you a hard time, do you in turn take it out on the ones you love, or on those with whom you work? Jesus gives us peace and joy in the midst of the storm. Let Him rule your heart! ~
