An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

February 24

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYThe LORD bless thee, and keep thee: (Numbers 6:24)The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: (Numbers 6:25)The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. (Numbers 6:26)
God gave to Moses a blessing, recorded in Numbers 6, to give to Aaron and his sons. It is a blessing which we should bestow upon our friends and loved ones. This blessing asks for God to bless and keep; all genuine blessings come from God and only He can keep. It also petitions for His face to shine upon us; imagine looking upon His face to see Him smiling back at you! It asks for God’s peace; there is no peace outside of God. Those who are void of God’s peace go to other sources to find peace. They try alcohol, drugs, etc. only to conclude that nothing can substitute for the real peace of God. ~
