SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYYe shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats. (Leviticus 22:19)
When the children of Israel offered sacrifices, every detail was regulated. They must choose a male without blemish from the cattle, sheep or goats. Why? Because each offering was a picture of the offering for sin that God would someday send. When the time came, God sent forth to this earth His precious son, Jesus, who yielded Himself to the terrible death of crucifixion. It was not an easy thing for God to do, yet He loved you and me so much that He gave the thing that was dearest to Him, and Jesus willingly gave His life for our eternal salvation.
