SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYYe shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:30)
After six days of creation God rested on the seventh day and hallowed it. Since then He has required that man reserve one day in seven for rest and worship. The fourth commandment required Israel to remember that day and keep it holy. The New Testament church was commanded to meet on the first day of every week. The sanctuary is the room in which we assemble to worship God, where He communicates with His people. It is to be a very special place of reverence and holiness. Today one of America’s great faults has been the lack of reverence for the Lord’s Day and His sanctuary. Honor God in these things and He will honor you! ~
