SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. (Genesis 32:26)
How much is the blessing of God worth to you? Jacob valued God’s blessings so highly that he wrestled all night with an angel and refused to give up until he had the blessing. Jabez called on God saying, “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed.” These men knew that the blessing of the Lord was worth much more than the things of this world. The Lord is eager to bless, however He first requires righteousness (Psalm 5:12) and respect. (Psalm 115:13). Peter preached that God raised Jesus from the dead to bless us (Acts 3:26). May we hunger for the blessing of the Lord like Jacob and refuse to let go until we are indeed blessed! ~
