SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYNow therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. (Joshua 14:12)
One of the greatest stories of obedience and faith in the Old Testament is that of Caleb. When Israel sent twelve spies into the Promised Land to spy out the land, only two gave a good report. The Lord promised that only those two, Caleb and Joshua, would someday enjoy living in the land flowing with milk and honey. Caleb was promised the very mountain whereupon his feet had trod. Forty years of wandering in the wilderness and five years of conquering the land passed, then an eighty-five year-old warrior said to the Israel’s leader, Joshua, “Now therefore give me this mountain!” What courage Caleb had! His faith never wavered as he drove the enemy out and made a home for his family there on that mountain. Has the Lord promised you a mountain? Courageously claim it, knowing that what the Lord has promised He will deliver! ~~
