SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYVow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared. (Psalm 76:11)
A vow, or commitment, is oft times easy to make and hard to pay. Have you impulsively purchased an item with a credit card, and found it very hard to meet your financial obligations afterwards? Whether to God, or to our fellowman, we must first be careful about making such a promise. In the book of Judges a man named Jephthah foolishly made a rash vow to sacrifice the first thing that he met upon his return from a victorious battle. To his regret, he was met by his own daughter. A vow is a serious contract and should not be entered into without very serious and prayerful thought. It is important that we make certain vows to God or others. Those who are afraid to make vows of commitment are robbed of the greatest blessings of life. Go ahead, make your vows, and then keep them! ~~
