An Upward Look
A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word
March 11
SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYThe LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: (Deuteronomy 7:7)But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (Deuteronomy 7:8)
Have you ever felt unlovable? I have heard people say, “God could never love me, nor forgive me.” No matter how far in sin you have traveled, the Lord is still willing to love and to save you. It’s not because you and I are so lovable or deserving of his attention, but rather because the Lord has made a covenant, and in that covenant He promised to love and forgive all who call upon Him. In John 3:16, He promised that “whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just as He did with Israel, God has made a covenant with you. He will keep His promise. What a wonderful God we have! ~
