An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

December 27

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. (Revelation 9:6)

O There is an awful time in the future for those who do not know Jesus as Savior. After Jesus returns for His church, those left behind will experience the terrible wrath of God. Having sinned away their day of grace and missed their opportunity to be saved, their hardened heart will mock the Lord, resulting in such agony that they will want to die, but for a five month period death will flee from them. On the other hand, I have seen saints of God die, witnessing their joyful relief as they slipped this earth’s hold with all its pain and entered into the presence of Almighty God. What a difference there is in knowing the Lord! ~
