An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

December 15

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYFor we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16)

When our needs are overwhelming, we can approach the throne of grace boldly knowing that our appeal will be made to the one who knows about the trials and troubles of life. No one can honestly point a finger toward Heaven and say to the Lord, “You just don’t understand how I feel.” Jesus knows about the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life. In those three points he was tempted as man, yet in each temptation he resisted Satan, quoting the scriptures to him. The next time you approach His throne of grace remember that a kind and compassionate Savior is listening to the pleas of your broken heart. ~
