An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

December 2

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYChrist hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (Galatians 3:13)

Through His curse we are blessed! The law, given by God to the children of Israel during the time of Moses, did not redeem men from sin; but rather, it proved that ALL were sinners. Jesus came to remedy that situation, not just by pointing out the fact that we were sinners, but by suffering and dying upon an old rugged cross. He took the curse of sin in His own body, therefore purchasing our redemption. On that glorious first Christmas, while shepherds rejoiced, He knew that thirty-three years later He would die the cursed death of the cross. Yet because He loved us, He submitted Himself to the agony of the cross. Let’s praise Him today! ~
