SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYTestifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:21)
The same Gospel reaches all. Since there is only one Savior, there is only one Gospel. All religions other than Christianity, are false and misleading. That is not being narrow-minded; it is being honest. Paul witnessed to the Jews by telling them that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ; he told the same thing to the Gentiles. Paul preached a Gospel of repentance and faith. Repentance is turning from sin; faith is turning to the Lord Jesus Christ. To be saved, one must sincerely repent of his sins and readily forsake them, totally depending upon the sacrifice of Jesus upon the cross to atone for his sins. It is that faith in Jesus and what He did on the cross that secures our salvation. If one who professes salvation continues to live in sin, that is a good sign that his profession was little more than air. ~~~
