An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

November 6

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYI am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. (John 10:11)

What a wonderful Shepherd I have! As a shepherd, the Lord Jesus Christ provides nourishment when I am spiritually hungry. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled,” the Master said. My thirst He quenches from the well of living water. When the storms of Satan are howling and I am vulnerable, Jesus will shelter me in His arms and protect me. When I stood alone without hope, bound for an eternity in hell, the good shepherd gave me His greatest gift – His life for mine. I should have been crucified, but Jesus took my sins and gave me His righteousness. He suffered my hell that I might enjoy His glorious Heaven for all eternity. When I think of my good Shepherd, I proclaim, “Oh, what a Savior!” ~~
