An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

November 5

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYShe said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (John 8:11)

One of the greatest statements ever uttered from the lips of our Lord was spoken to a condemned woman brought to Him by the accusing scribes and Pharisees. The woman had already been judged guilty by them, so they brought her to Jesus to see what His judgment would be. Rather than condemnation, Jesus offered His forgiveness! Although those who had condemned her may not have been guilty of her adultery, they were certainly guilty of other sins. After Jesus had told them to go ahead and stone her if they had no sins of their own, one by one they turned and left. Jesus loves to forgive, just as He did on that day. Do you have unconfessed sins? Bring them to Jesus today and He will speak to your heart in His still, small voice, “Neither do I condemn thee; go and sin no more!” ~~~
