SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYSing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. (Zechariah 2:10)
There once was a time when Judah was living according to the Lord’s commandments. God’s blessings were abundant and songs of joy and praise ascended from hills of Judah. Then, after Judah’s stubborn rebellion of disobedience against God, they were carried away captive by Nebuchadnezzar into Babylon. There they hanged their harps upon willows; their singing ceased. God was no longer with them. Now, after seventy years of captivity, they turned back to the Lord and, once again, their song was restored. The Lord promised once again to live among them. God’s presence makes the difference! Without His presence and blessing we have no song, but we can sing and rejoice when the Lord dwells among us! ~
