An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

September 25

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYSow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. (Hosea 10:12)

It is always time to seek the Lord, but for Israel it was time for an urgently needed revival! They had wandered far away from God and God’s judgment had befallen them. Like Israel, most people wait until they are in trouble to seek the Lord. Israel had been warned time and time again, but failed to heed. They seemed to forget how the blessings of the Lord were upon them while they were faithful, but when they backslid upon God those blessings were withdrawn and trouble came. Let’s make a daily habit of seeking the Lord. Instead of asking Him to get you out of trouble, you will be thanking Him for keeping you from trouble. ~
