An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

September 7

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: (Ezekiel 11:19)

God is in the heart transplant business! Man was born with a defective heart so a new transplant is a necessity. I am not talking about the muscle that pumps the blood; but rather, about the very innermost part of you. David said, “I was shapen in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Paul declared, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” The only way to fix the problem with the wicked heart is to replace it with a new one. When one becomes sorry that he has sinned, repents and trusts Jesus as savior, God will place within him a new heart. With that new heart comes a new divine nature that will lead you to do right. That experience is called being born again! ~~
