An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

September 4

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. (Ezekiel 2:5)

What an astounding statement! We sometimes measure our worth to God by our successes; however, the Lord let Ezekiel know that his job was to tell the people of Judah that which he was instructed. Whether or not they obeyed did not change his duty to give them the message. They may not have repented of their sins, but after Ezekiel has finished his message, they knew that there had been a prophet among them! He had made a lasting impression upon them. Do our family, our friends, our neighbors and our associates at work or school know that there has been a Christian among them? Do you share with them what God has done in your life? Is your testimony so strong that they know without your telling them? God has put us in this dark world to be a light, so shine for Jesus today. ~*~
