An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

August 20

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYBut let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:24)

Nothing can take the place of a personal relationship with the Lord. One could be a member of a church, get baptized and try to live a good life and still not know the Lord. There is a vast difference in knowing about the Lord and personally knowing the Lord. I know quite a bit about our president, yet I have never personally met him; therefore, he does not know me. In like manner, many people have read, even studied, the Bible and could do well on a quiz about the Lord, yet they have no continually personal relationship with Him. Have you met Him in prayer and asked His forgiveness? He wants to talk with you! ~
