An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

August 10

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYBut now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah 43:1-2)

Isn't this one of the most precious scriptures you have ever read? God reminded Israel that He was their Creator, possessor and protector. What a comfort this must have been to Israel in the time of trouble. Children of God, let’s be reminded that we have the same Almighty God with the same promises. No matter what you are going through right now, the Lord is right there with you. He will take you through the floods of this life and bring you out victoriously on the other side just as He did to Moses and the children of Israel. When you feel as if you have been thrown into the fiery furnace, just remember the three Hebrew children and the fourth man in the fire. Jesus did not forsake them, and He will not forsake you! If God be for us, who can be against us? ~~~ DAILY BIBLE READING: Isaiah 43-45
