An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

August 1

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYHow art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah 14:12)

Child of God, we are in a war. For six thousand years, the fallen angel, Lucifer, better known as Satan or the devil, has been waging war against the followers of God. He proudly boasted that he would ascend into heaven and exalt his throne above the stars of God (v.13), even seeking to be like the most High (v.14). However, the Word declares that Lucifer will be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit (v.15). Since Lucifer had been sentenced to an eternity in hell, and there is no redemption for him, he is trying to take as many to hell with him as he can, leaving in his wake death and destruction. He hates you and wants to destroy your testimony, your life and your very soul. But I have good news: You can defeat the fallen one because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world! In every facet of your life, claim victory today through Jesus Christ our Lord. ~~~~
