An Upward Look
A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word
July 25
SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYMany waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned. (Song of Solomon 8:7)
Love has a lot of definitions. The kind of love that Hollywood portrays is a shallow, physical lust that is temporal. Relationships and marriages that are based on this ‘love’ will soon deteriorate. That is why marriages that last even five or ten years are a rarity among that crowd. When the love between a man and a woman is based upon the person that each is, rather than physical features that change continually, that love will not only survive, but grow with time. Those marriages will last ‘til death do us part’. Real love cannot be lost by the physical attraction of another. It is worth more than all the material substance that one can accumulate in this life. Make sure your love is the kind that is worth more than millions! ~~
