SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYDiscretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: (Proverbs 2:11)
To be discrete means to be careful and to use good judgment. One must discriminate between what is good for his relationship with the Lord and what is detrimental to that relationship. The simple minded does not discern between the two; consequently, he gets into trouble before he is aware of it. Eve showed lack of understanding and discretion in the Garden of Eden. Had she been discrete she would not have sinned and eaten of the forbidden fruit. What a curse it was to her, her family and to the entire world to come after her. By that simple act of disobedience the paradise and utopia called Earth became a place of sin, sickness and death. Weeds and briars now grow where flowers and food should have grown. One indiscriminate act can bring much sorrow. Discretion and understanding are two valuable assets. Let’s use them daily. ~~~
