An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

July 14

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYThere is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. (Proverbs 14:12)

An animal can be lured into a deadly trap by its favorite food. All it sees is the tasty bit of food. It never looks around to see the trap that will soon take away its freedom and eventually its life. We humans are fools of the same kind. Satan offers a morsel that is attractive and appealing. We walk down a road that seems right. We do not pause to investigate. John wrote that we are to try the spirits, because not every spirit is of God. Jeremiah wrote that we are to stand in the ways and ask for the old path that has been tested and tried. Solomon wrote that we should ponder the path of our feet. False religions may make you feel good and comfortable, but they do not lead to Heaven. Will the path that you travel lead you to Heaven? ~~~
