SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYGive me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great? (2 Chronicles 1:10)
If the Lord appeared to you, and said, “Ask what I shall give you,” what would you ask for? Riches? Fame? A new car? A mansion on top of a hill? Lots of friends? God did appear unto young King Solomon one night, and told him to ask for whatever he wanted. Realizing the great task of leading the great nation of Israel that the Lord had placed in his hands, he asked for wisdom and knowledge. His noble request was pleasing to the Lord. Through the gift of wisdom and knowledge that God gave him that night, Solomon became known as the wisest of God’s creation that ever lived upon Earth! Perhaps the gage of our closeness to the Lord could be measured in what we ask Him for in prayer. Are your requests for something you like for yourself, or something that would glorify God? ~~~
