SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYNow therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives. (Ezra 10:11)
After serving seventy years in captivity for their sins a remnant of Judah was permitted to come back to Jerusalem to rebuild it. Instead of learning the lessons of sin and its judgment, they immediately returned to their old sinful ways. Disobeying the Lord, they married wives of the ungodly people of the land. When Ezra heard this he rent his clothes, sat down astonished, and told God that he was ashamed. He pleaded for revival. Revival required putting away their strange wives who served other gods. Revival could only come if they separated themselves from the world. Biblical separation is taught and practiced throughout God’s word. Claim God’s best today and be separated from the world. ~
