SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd their brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God. (1 Chronicles 9:13)
While reading 1 Chronicles, chapter nine, I was impressed with the order maintained by those in charge of servicing the tabernacle. There was a lot to do in a tabernacle that served the great nation of Israel, and the Levites were able and ready to perform their duties in His service. Specific duties were assigned such as keepers of the gate, the treasury, opening the doors every morning, preparing showbread, singers, etc. In today’s church it seems that 20% of the members do 80% of the work - not a healthy situation. Every faithful member of the church should have at least one duty in the service of that church. If you are not contributing to the service of your church ask the pastor, and I am confident when he gets over the shock he will find a job for you. Be a volunteer in God’s army. ~~~
