An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

June 15

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper. (2 Chronicles 26:5)

What is the secret of success? The answer is very simple, yet a mystery to many. Uzziah, the king, walked close to the Lord God and was successful in every venture he undertook. He was so blessed that he seemed to forget whence his blessings came, and being lifted up in pride he quit seeking the Lord. Soon the blessings stopped, he was stricken with leprosy until the day of his death and his reign was cut short. Uzziah failed to learn the simple truth: the secret of success is the Lord’s blessing. We should never get too big to seek the Lord, remembering that as long as we seek the Lord, God will make us prosper! ~
