An Upward Look
A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word
May 30
SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYPraise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. (Psalm 150:1)
Prayer and/or praise is observed in the entirety of the Psalms. It is appropriate that this capstone of Israel’s songbook speaks about our total praise. The psalmist immediately reveals that the Lord expects praise in His sanctuary. We are told to enter into His sanctuary with thanksgiving and praise (Psalm 100:4). We worship the Lord for who He is and what He has done (v.2). Our praise needs to be personal and from the heart. Praise Him for what He has done for you in the past week. We are told to use musical instruments in our praise. Throughout the Bible, in both old and new testaments, instruments are appropriately used to praise the Lord. Are you breathing? Then, let God hear the praise coming from your lips as you sing and worship next Sunday. Give the Lord total praise, for He is worthy to be praised! ~~~
