An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

May 24

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYI will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee. (Psalm 144:9)
Goodbye “Heartbreak Hotel” and hello “Blessed Assurance”. It was at Camp Joy near Chattanooga, Tennessee, that the Lord changed my life and changed my song. As a fourteen year old boy I called unto the Lord in repentance, and He forgave me of my sins and saved me by His marvelous grace. Before that evening, I would stand on the stage in talent shows and sing the songs of the world about heartbreak and sin, but that night I received something really worth singing about. No more would I sing those songs of sadness, but the Lord had put a new song of praise and gladness in my heart. Now many years later, I still love to sing that new song of praise with its joyous message of hope and salvation, never tiring of it. Go out today and sing a new song of praise unto God! ~~~
