An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

May 2

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYI was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. (Psalm 122:1)
David loved God’s house so much that when someone said, “Let’s go to the house of God,” he gladly jumped up with a spring in his step and a song in his heart and excitingly entered God’s house with great expectations. I have heard many amusing excuses for not attending church. They would be so comical if it were not for the seriousness of the matter. “Forsake not the assembling of ourselves together,” Hebrews says. New Testament Christians met together on Sunday to worship the Lord. God has always required that we give Him one day out of seven. He gives me seven and I give Him one; that seems like a good deal to me. Some worship for an hour and think they have done God a favor. Sunday is the Lord’s DAY, not yours. Honor the Lord on His day and He will honor you! ~~~
