An Upward Look
A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word
January 22
SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYBut as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. (Genesis 50:20)
When evils befall us we sometimes get discouraged, even accusing God for letting these things come upon us. Maybe Joseph felt this way when he was sold into Egypt as a slave, then falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, and ending up in a dark prison dungeon. How do you think he felt when once he had great hope of being freed, only to be forgotten by Pharaoh’s chief butler? The day finally came that he was not only freed, but became a chief ruler in Egypt. In reflection, he realized that all that had come upon him had brought good to he and his family in the end! We do not know what uncertainty the future holds, but we do know who is in control. God will work everything out for our good and His glory! ~~
