An Upward Look
A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYI will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. (Psalm 13:6)
Have you ever listened to the sad songs of the world? The lyrics are depressing. The songs of God’s children are quite different! God’s people sing with joy of blessing and hope. I often think of the songs that I sang before I was saved – songs like “You Ain’t Nothing But A Hound Dog.” Now, what on earth is good about that song? It is not encouraging. It’s really down right degrading. How would you feel if someone walked up to you on the street and told you that you were a hound dog? On the other hand, those good ole gospel songs that we find in our hymn books are uplifting. They are songs of a Savior, and His love, forgiveness and redemption. Throughout the day, sing blessed songs like “Amazing Grace”, “Blessed Assurance” and “Oh What A Savior.” You will be indeed uplifted and blessed. ~~~
