An Upward Look
A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYThen Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? (Genesis 17:17)
God’s promise became a laughing matter with Abraham. The Lord had promised Abraham and Sarah a son from whom countless family members would descend. When God reminds him of His promise, Abraham laughs. He would be 100 years old and Sarah would be 90 when this son would be born; yet, God could do it. He is in the miracle-working business. This promised son, Isaac, was born right on time. Isaac then had two sons, one of which was Jacob. Jacob was the father of twelve sons whose families became the twelve tribes of Israel. Today there are millions of Abraham’s descendants living on this earth. Remember, when God makes a promise, you can bank on it! ~
