An Upward Look
A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word
April 5
SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak. (Judges 1:20)
The ten evil spies had said, “We saw the giants, the sons of Anak…we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Caleb’s observation was, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30) Well, forty-five years later Caleb’s faith had not diminished. While Caleb expelled those giants, those who doubted God’s word were nowhere to be found. What all the mighty men of Israel were afraid to do, Caleb did. He knew that what God had promised He was able also to perform. When we trust only in our own abilities, we doubt and we fail to accomplish the task at hand. However, everything God asked you to do, you can do with His leadership and anointing. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. He is faithful! ~~~
