An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

April 26

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYPrecious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. (Psalm 116:15)
When I die it will be a precious thing to God! What a great event when I am called home to see Him whom I have adored all my life. A young deacon, Stephen, was about to die. As he looked upon the faces of his murders, he could see the cruel hatred in their expressions, so he looked up toward Heaven. That is when he saw his Lord Jesus Christ standing, ready to welcome him home! Stephen cried out with joy, “I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God!” At that moment the angry mob rushed upon him, cast him out of the city, and stoned him to death. The important thing to him in that moment was that he was precious to Jesus. The one who loved him so much would not forsake him in death! ~~~ DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalm 116; 1 Samuel 26-28
