SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYNot unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. (Psalm 115:1)
All glory belongs to the Lord. For His truth and for His mercy all glory must be directed to God. It is absolutely amazing what the Lord will do when we give Him all the glory. He plagued the land of Egypt, parted the Red Sea, and defeated the inhabitants of Canaan when the children of Israel gave Him the glory. Psalm 111:9 declares that God’s name is holy and reverend. Speaking of Jesus in Philippians 2 Paul said, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.” On the other hand, mighty rulers of the past, like Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar, were humbled when they failed to give God the glory. Herod Agrippa refused to give honor to the Lord and immediately died. Today, do whatever you do to the glory of God, and watch God bless your efforts! ~~~ DAILY BIBLE READING: Psalm 115; 1 Samuel 23-25
