An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

April 20

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. (1 Samuel 10:9)
God is in the heart changing business! When Israel asked for a king God directed Samuel to anoint Saul, a young Benjamite. Saul was told that he would be ‘turned into another man’. After the anointing and commissioning by the prophet Samuel, God gave Saul another heart. Even his companions had their hearts touched by God (verse 26). When God calls us He will always do a work in our hearts that will enable us to complete His mission. His anointing will empower us beyond our natural strength. Do not say, “I can’t do it,” when the Lord calls you to duty. He will change you into another person so you can do ALL THINGS through Christ! ~
