An Upward Look

A Daily Devotional Observation from God's Word

April 18

SCRIPTURE VERSE FOR TODAYAnd the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision. (1 Samuel 3:1)
The Word of God has always been precious. At some times it is even more precious than at others. Eli’s sons had been a disgrace to the priesthood. Because of their sins there was no open vision or communication with God. The only thing Israel had to guide them was Word of the Lord. Today, God’s word is especially precious. The Bible is God’s only written word, yet it is outlawed in our schools and public places. Many professors in our colleges deny its inspiration and reliability. Even some ungodly ministers preach that it is not applicable in this modern era. Still it stands unblemished and completely trustworthy! It is especially precious to me because it showed me the way of salvation, instructs me on how to please God in this life, and is my roadmap to Heaven. It is totally dependable and true! ~~
